01 Why Test

Know what's in you.

Microplastics show up in nearly every modern human sample studied. Lumati Detect makes your personal exposure measurable.

Plastic types
Multiple

Common polymer types associated with each size range are described in the report based on published research. The test does not directly identify polymer composition.

Turnaround
2-3 wks

Digital report delivered within two to three weeks of the lab receiving your sample.

Collection
Saliva

Non-invasive, painless sampling. Takes about ten minutes from start to mail.

02 How It Works

Easier than you'd think.

Spit, seal, and send. Four small steps stand between a kit on your counter and personalized results in your inbox.

Collect saliva.
Step 01

Collect saliva.

Use the included beaker and stainless steel straw to provide a sample. The whole process takes about ten minutes.

Mail the kit.
Step 02

Mail the kit.

Slide the collection card into the prepaid envelope and drop it in any mailbox. Postage is included for U.S. residents.

Lab analyzes.
Step 03

Lab analyzes.

The lab uses fluorescent microscopy with Nile Red staining to detect and count microplastic particles by size category.

03 Register Your Kit

Scan the right code.

Your kit comes with multiple QR codes. Only one registers your sample with the lab. Here is how to find it.

  1. Open the kit box and find the small postcard insert.
  2. Flip the postcard to the side that lists the kit components.
  3. Find the section labeled Register Your Kit.
  4. Scan that QR code with your phone camera and complete registration.
The other QR codes inside the box are for general info and lab routing. Only the one on the Register Your Kit side of the postcard activates your account.

05 Reduce Your Exposure

Small swaps. Real impact.

Once you know your baseline, these everyday changes can meaningfully reduce ongoing microplastic exposure.

Filter your water

A quality water filter removes much of the microplastic load from tap and bottled water.

Skip plastic containers

Switch to glass or stainless for food storage, especially anything hot or acidic.

Choose natural fabrics

Cotton, linen, and wool shed fewer microfibers than polyester or nylon.

Improve air filtration

A HEPA-grade filter reduces airborne microplastics indoors, particularly from synthetic textiles.

06 Go Further

Two ways to go further.

Detecting your baseline is step one. Choose what comes next: retest after 90 days to measure progress, or pair with Lumati Gold to support the body's natural response to exposure.

06 The Research
10,000+

Published studies on microplastic exposure

Microplastic exposure has become one of the most studied environmental health topics in modern research, with thousands of peer-reviewed publications across toxicology, cardiology, and public health.

07 Common Questions

Things to know.

Honest answers to the questions worth asking before you order.

How accurate is the test?
Analysis is performed using fluorescent microscopy with Nile Red staining. Results provide particle count and size distribution. The test is positioned as first-generation exposure profiling for research and wellness use, not as a diagnostic measurement.
How long until I get results?
Most results are delivered digitally within two to three weeks of the lab receiving your sample. You will receive an email when your report is ready.
Which QR code do I scan to register?
Your kit includes multiple QR codes for different purposes. The registration QR code is on the postcard insert, on the side that lists the kit components, in the section labeled Register Your Kit. Scan only that one to activate your account with the lab.
How often should I retest?
Many people retest quarterly to track changes in their exposure profile over time. Annual testing is a good baseline for general awareness. Choose what fits your goals.
Is this FDA-cleared?
Lumati Detect is a wellness and informational test, not a diagnostic medical device. It is intended for personal exposure awareness and is not a substitute for clinical evaluation by a physician.
What if I have questions about my results?
Each report includes personalized recommendations based on your specific results. For more support, reach out to Lumati customer care or consult your healthcare provider.
